Team morpheus is a F24 team from Hornsea school run from the DT department, it consists of 11 to 17 year olds racing and maintaining two electric cars Morpheus and Xeina.
Prepare For The Adrenaline
The Best Materials. Zero Compromise.
Morpheus is powered by two 12V car batteries.
The shell of Morpheus is made of carbon fibre, we will be changing the body work in the near future to comply with the 2019 regulations.
The drivers that drive Morpheus are the lightest members of the team to decrease weight and increase speed.
Morpheus has been wrapped yellow as it was James Moorfoots favorite colour.
In previous races we have won most resilient team as we faced and overcame many challenges that day. As well as this we recently came first in the Blyton park qualifiers.
Built By the team
Everyone in Team Morpheus has played a part in building and modifying the car, this means that the cars are 100% team made. Xeina our new addition is undergoing work being redesigned and improved.
The values of Team Morpheus
Students participating in Team Morpheus build team working skills as they have to work with other students and members of staff to complete a number of tasks from painting to electrical work.
Students will need to help lead one another with tasks which, builds their leadership skills for their future careers.
Students have to be able to solve problems under pressure such as changing wheels to locating problems and fixing them during a race.

Welcome to the Morpheus Blog every week updates of what the team has been up to; from test drives to car maintenance it’s all here.
Recently the team has been auditioning new drivers for Morpheus and Xenia. On each of the two nights we’ve had a great turnout and it’s an incredibly hard decision to make. We are down to the top 10 and are looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table in the final trials next week.
We have also settled on an amazing design for Xenia made by our designer Max. The team is really looking forward to making it come true.
